Computational design of prostheses and implants for personalized treatments

The researchers of the M2BE group have extensive experience in the computational simulation of the macroscopic mechanical behaviour of biological tissues and the evaluation of the biomechanical performance of different types of prostheses interacting with these tissues (hip prostheses, external and internal fixators, intramedullary fixation pins and tooth implants). In recent years, given the development of personalized medicine, this line of research has focused on the design of specific treatments for patients using computer simulation tools
