The Photonic Technologies Group (GTF) is a consolidated research group recognized by the Government of Aragon and belonging to the Aragon Engineering Research Institute (I3A) of the University of Zaragoza.
The group's priority focus is on research and development of photonic technologies for any sector with a strong applied orientation. We contribute to transfer, through committed collaboration, research to the productive sector. We propose innovation through a solid scientific base assimilated in projects of a fundamental nature, trying to reach the transfer of a prototype, study or process that companies can transform into products and industrial processes, with the undoubted interest that this objective has in development social and economic.
Currently, the GTF is made up of 16 professors from the Departments of Applied Physics, Electronic Engineering and Communications, and the Defense University Center. In addition, at this time 12 researchers hired are part of the group. The work of the GTF is carried out in 9 research laboratories distributed between the School of Engineering and Architecture (EINA), the Engineering Research Institute of Aragon (I3A) and the Faculty of Sciences, equipped with the appropriate means to address their lines of investigation.
