Analysis and validation of technologies for the service design of a telecare system.

This project in collaboration with the startup Maximiliana is based on the evidence that in many cases, elderly people who have a telecare tool contracted do not have it at hand when they need it. Sometimes it is because, for convenience, they take it off during the night (at risk), sometimes because they are watches that they have to charge very often and then do not remember to put it on again, or because they only work inside the house with a switchboard and when they go for a walk they cannot take them with them... All this means that when an elderly person has a fall or an emergency, they often cannot ask for help because they do not have the tool at hand. We want to change that by solving each of the reasons why they remove or do not carry the device.

Research is being carried out to develop a device that is as miniaturised as possible, that allows help to be summoned by pressing a button and that can always be worn comfortably by the elderly person, on the wrist, on the neck or in other possible places.
