Nowadays, turbomachinery plays a fundamental role in energy generation and fluid impulsion present in many daily applications. Respect to the environment and renewable energy use-up requires a higher turbomachine efficiency and performance than ever before. Thanks to computational fluid mechanics, application oriented designs can be achieved with greater efficiency, shortening design times and decreasing the development process costs.
The group has developed specific computational tools to design and optimize any type of turbomachine: pumps, fans, turbines, wind turbines, etc, which, furthermore, allow to adapt the design to the specific needs of every application, achieving even larger efficiencies that those of the state of the art.
