Catalysis and Reactor Engineering Group

The Catalysis and Reactor Engineering Group (CREG) is a university research team constituted by professors, researchers, and PhD students of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technologies from University of Zaragoza (Spain). It’s part of the Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A). The group was recognised by the DGA (Government of Aragon) as a research group of excellence in 2005. Its research includes aspects related to different facets of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science.

The CREG began activities in the early 1990s, initially being dedicated to Catalytic Reactor Engineering. Later, it evolved both in composition/structure and in topics of interest. Nowadays covering areas such as Catalysis, Hydrogen Production and Separation, Membrane Reactors, Zeolite Membranes or e-Fuels.

The research laboratories are currently located in R&D Building and in the School of Engineering and Architecture (EINA), both in the Río Ebro Campus of the University of Zaragoza.

Our aim is to use the knowledge of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science to develop new scientific and technical advances at the service of our economic, industrial and social environment. We pursue the incorporation of more efficient, sustainable and competitive materials, reactors and processes into the production system, especially in the energy sector. Our goal is to minimize their environmental impact and promote trends towards cleaner and intensified processes.
