Dear All,
Thanks to the support of the French Ministry of Research, Education and Innovation, UPPA & USMB launch today a call for PhD's projects devoted to cotutelle within UNITA. Eight full grants, corresponding to funding of 3 years’ salary for PhD Students, are associated to this call. Four of them are devoted to potential collaboration between UPPA, and UBI, UVT or UNITO, and four to potential collaborations between USMB and UBI, UVT, UNITO or UNIZAR.
The complete call will be composed of two phases. In the first one, PhD projects, linked with a project proposed in the thematic Hubs, involving two supervisors (and associated teams), in a French University and in a partner one, will be selected. Special attention will be paid to proposals on future common training programs, staff and student exchanges and ambition to answer European calls. This first selection process will be ensured by the scientific committees of each thematic area. In a second step, international students will have to answer a call and to apply for position on the PhD projects resulting from the first step. Final decision on student choice will be ensured by selection teams, composed of the two supervisors and representative of the partner doctoral schools.
Because the time span on which the selection process must be completed is very tight, it has been decided that the first step of the overall call is opened through the French research teams only. However, we would like to strongly encourage teams from the alliance to use the R&I cartography to identify possible collaboration teams within the two French universities and make contact with them to set up a common answer to the call.

- Opening of the call for project (1st phase): June 7th 2021
- Deadline for answering the call (1st phase): June 16 2021 at 12.00 (noon) CET
- Analysis of the applications by scientific committees: From June 17 to 25 2021
- Publishing of results (awarded projects): June 25th 2021
- Opening of the call for student application (2nd phase): June 28th 2021
- Deadline for answering the call (2nd phase): July 17th 2021
- Analysis of the student applications by selection board: from July 19th to July 23rd
- Publishing of results (awarded students): July 23rd 2021
