The Master in "Biomedical Engineering" is a multidisciplinary master's degree. It brings together the potential of the University of Zaragoza in this field, within the Aragon Institute for Engineering Research (I3A) and the Aragon Institute of Nanoscience (INA).
Biomedical Engineering aims to provide solutions to any engineering problem that arises in the field of Biology and Medicine. With this training, we want to provide students with the necessary tools to respond to the situations they will have to face in the development of their profession.
Engineering methodologies related to design processes, such as medical terminology, basic concepts of biology and medicine, peculiarities of working with tissues, organs and living beings, in particular the clinical environment, and the social and economic repercussions of their performance.
As a complement to this training, the Ph.D. Program has been created for those who wish to complete their doctoral thesis, with the participation of the University of Zaragoza and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
If they have taken the Postgraduate course, this training will only consist of the preparation and defence of a doctoral thesis.
In the case of not holding a Master in Biomedical Engineering, it is possible to enrol in the doctorate if the student is in possession of the research proficiency that certifies the successful completion of the teaching stage of the old doctoral programmes.
