Webinar "AI and Medical Imaging for in-silico tumor modeling" (Ángel Alberich, Wednesday 17 March 2021 at 17 CET)

On Wednesday 17 March 2021 at 17 CET the Avicenna Alliance will host one of the webinars of its webinar series for members-only and VPHI members.

This monthly initiative has the goal to enable both Avicenna member companies and VPHi Members to get to know each other better and share their knowledge about their main activities, expertise and interests. The series alternates presentations by academia and industry members.

Webinar title: "AI and Medical Imaging for in-silico tumor modeling"
by Angel Alberich Bayarri - founder and CEO of QUIBIM Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers in Medicine.

Abstract

New image analysis pipelines powered by AI (Specially the implementation of novel convolutional neural network architectures) has allowed for the seamless extraction of quantitative features in clinical routine, so called imaging biomarkers. The combination of these characteristics with the information of other scales such as cellular and molecular allows for the creation of integrative in silico models of tumors and organs to predict clinical outcomes. The webinar will go through all the process of image analysis and the integration with clinical, pathology and molecular variables and will review different clinical scenarios such as pediatrics cancer.
