Seminar Dr. Asis Palazon: "The impact of hypoxia and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in anti-tumor immunity: mechanisms of action and therapeutic opportunities" (lunes 12 de diciembre, 12h.)

In the framework of the Master in Biomedical Engineering, next Monday 12th December, Dr. Asis Palazon will give a seminar entitled:

"The impact of hypoxia and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in anti-tumor immunity: mechanisms of action and therapeutic opportunities".

Dr. Asis Palazon leads the Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy lab at CIC bioGUNE since 2019. Research in the lab is focused on the study of the features of the tumor microenvironment (TME) that influence immune responses. In solid tumors, these include limited oxygen supply (hypoxia) and the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that modulate the optimal function of cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Understanding these mechanisms will help to develop differentiated approaches to cancer immunotherapy, including monoclonal antibodies and cell therapies. Before joining CIC bioGUNE, Dr. A Palazon was a senior scientist at AstraZeneca-Medimmune and a postdoctoral researcher at University of Cambridge (UK).
