The Spanish Network of Mechanobiology has been created with the aim of promoting and encouraging collaboration between research groups through the exchange of students, ideas, concerns and, moreover, the exchange of methodologies and technologies. Mechanobiology is a new field of research that aims to understand how the mechanical properties of cells and tissues determine essential biological functions in health and disease.
Unravelling the interaction between mechanical and biological factors requires the convergence of cellular and molecular biology, biophysics and biomechanics, and the generation of new theoretical and computational models.
