This line focuses on research into very high-efficiency high-frequency power electronic converters, with a comprehensive approach including a three-level optimization: semiconductor devices with adaptive dynamic driving, advanced multilevel converters with SoC control architectures, and electromechanical system integration. The goal is to switch semiconductor devices in the picosecond range.
Research projects are carried out with public funding (one of them an ERC excellence grant –SPEED–) and also with private funding from companies, with different applications like some of the other lines.
