Job Description

The GIFMA research group (https://i3a.unizar.es/es/grupos‐de‐investigacion/gifma) works on the development, optimization, and automation of innovative manufacturing and inspection techniques and systems. With extensive experience in collaboration with the industrial sector, it offers a multidisciplinary and dynamic environment in which new members can participate in multiple academic and research activities.

GIFMA research group is looking for a predoctoral researcher who wishes to join the PID2024‐159766OB‐I00 ROBOKIM research project— "Knowledge Generation Projects" call funded in the 2024 by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities—through a fully funded Predoctoral Contract (4 years). The previous 2023 call for predoctoral fellowships aids PID2023 is enclosed as a reference.

The predoctoral fellowship will focus on developing advanced techniques for kinematic modelling and error compensation in articulated coordinate measuring arms and industrial robots, by integrating neural networks and artificial intelligence algorithms to generate a digital twin.

Starting date and duration: January-March 2026, PhD contract for 4 years

 

Profile

  1. Academic qualifications: Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, telecommunications, electronics, or related areas.
  2. With interest in programming and artificial intelligence applications
  3. Knowledge of CAD software and mechanical design.
  4. Strong work capacity, self-organization, and analytical skills.
  5. Eager to learn
