University of Zaragoza

The University of Zaragoza is the main centre of technological innovation in the Ebro Valley and has great prestige among the various Spanish and European universities with which it has relations. Founded in 1542, it is one of the oldest universities in Spain, with a history dating back to the Roman period. The university is the only public university in the region. It has teaching campuses and research centres in Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza, the three provinces of the Autonomous Region of Aragon.

Academic staff at the University of Zaragoza are highly specialised and have a broad research and teaching experienc. The University has about 40,000 students in its 22 Faculties, a teaching staff of about 3,000 and an administrative and technical staff of about 2,000. The I3A operates mainly from the Campus Rio Ebro, next to the EINA, although there are several research groups working in other campuses. Most of our members are also engineering, physics or chemistry professors or lecturers at the EINA.
