The Time-Sensitive Systems and Performance (TSSP) research group focuses on the design, analysis and verification of systems with strict temporal constraints, in which correctness depends not only on the logical outcome but also on the instant at which it occurs — the property that defines real-time systems (RTS). Although RTS form its traditional core, the techniques for temporal measurement and characterisation, formal modelling and emulation developed by the research group go beyond the traditional problem of schedulability and are applicable to time-sensitive systems in a broader sense. Its areas of application include industrial automation, in-vehicle systems and aerospace platforms, where flows of varying criticality must coexist over shared communication infrastructures with deterministic guarantees of latency and jitter.
